Dynamic analysis and structure optimization on trapezoidal wave generator for eliminating the over deviation of the residual wave in shock test measurement

In this work, a new separate-style trapezoidal wave generator (TWG) is designed to alleviate the over deviation of residual waves in shock waveform generation processes. Firstly, hypothesis proposed that caused by impact between piston and end cover TWG analyzing dynamic behavior during tests, and, subsequently, verified with finite element simulation. Then, model established describe based on 1D continuous rod theory. Several parameters, including velocity, attached mass, weight, stiffness inner cushion, length, diameter, are analyzed estimate behavior. Lastly, implementing simple effective modification traditional accordance parameters’ analysis.
